Tamawo

Tamawo, a variant of Encanto, is a mythological creature in Philippine mythology, commonly known as Encanto. Believed to be malevolent yet exceptionally handsome albino-like beings, Tamawo exhibit very pale to white skin that sparkles under direct sunlight. They also possess light-colored hair, fangs, and may have unusual features such as pointy, leaf-shaped ears, high-bridged noses, fair skin, and the absence of a philtrum. These mythical beings primarily reside near the sea or any body of water.

Description and Appearance:

Tamawo is a subject of both fascination and fear in Philippine lore. According to mythology, this creature demonstrates sexual dimorphism, with their race predominantly composed of males. Clad in gold and adorned with a putong (crown) and bahag (g-string) resembling the attire of pre-colonial Visayan nobles, Tamawo are depicted as extremely alluring. They are often pictured as non-muscular, beautiful men with pale-colored eyes, fair complexion, and pale or golden hair.
