The Garuda (Sanskrit गरुड) in Philippine mythology is a huge bird-like creature. There are different depictions of the Garuda in Philippine mythology, ranging from a winged humanoid with the head of an eagle and the upper body of a muscular man with large talons in their hands and talon feet, to descriptions of the Garuda as large bird creatures of wind that reside in an underwater realm and soar above the sky.
